Steamers and Barges

When he was 24, he remembered Elizabeth Trigge and married her.

By the time he was 30, he had extended his route to include Quebec and Lake Champlain. He had 16 steamers and 60 barges, and employed people to operate them. This may be why he was subsequently called King of the Rideau.
